Over-population
If California's population continues to grow at the rate it does now California's population will double to approximately 64 million by 2035. This statistic is based on the state's current 2% annual growth rate,a rate that is greater than the national growth rate of 1.1%. The average American uses about 1,450 gallons a day per capita of water to meet all their needs. An increase in people will result in an increase in the demand of water. Overdraft is already occurring in terms of surface and ground water resources so what's to come can become a nightmare.
The over drafting and the overpopulation is a problem but the real issue is that fact that water is not being conserved. With an increase in population and an increase in water demands, it is obvious that using less water and reusing water is of great importance.
