California has a large agriculture industry because California is a large source for food production. There are also a vast amount of farms located in California. Agriculture uses a large amount of California's water supply along with farms. A large sum of water is used for livestock, crops, maintenance, and more. Agriculture is of much importance to California's economy. If we continue to use water so sparingly there will not be enough to maintain our crops. Texas, one of the only states that has more farms and crops than California, still uses less water for their agriculture. California needs to look at the possibility of using water-friendly farming methods, such as aquaponics.
