The map on the top shows the various reservoirs and rivers located in California. From looking at the map you would not think that we could be entering a water crisis but many of those rivers have been exposed to over-draft and other factors which have resulted in a decrease in water levels. If the rivers are losing water they are not able to provide the needed amount of water to the reservoirs. The bottom map shows the major rivers and reservoirs. The river located on the border of California, Utah, and Nevada is the Colorado River. This river accounts for 50% of Southern California's water. The two rivers located north of the Colorado river are the Sacramento River and San Joaquin River. These two rivers meet at the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, which supplies water for about two-thirds of California residents.
